This course has been developed to meet the needs of business and government organisations who desire to respond with compassion and understanding to HIV and AIDS challenges encountered in the workplace. The course aims to provide managers with a more profound knowledge of HIV and AIDS and the skills to manage the impacts of this dreaded disease.

Participants will look at the personal impacts on employees and organisational areas such as finance, policy and procedures, business climate, roles and responsibilities, human resource adjustments and programmes. Participants will gain insight into the care continuum of HIV-positive people, prevention strategies, the rights of the employee and employer, workplace HIV/AIDS critical issues, as well as best practices in HIV/AIDS management.

The training will be based on adult education principles and is highly interactive. We use workbooks that include case studies, simulations, group activities and individual questionnaires. The course content covers the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for effective HIV/AIDS workplace management.

Our risk management course will arm participants with the knowledge to assess, monitor and deal with risks effectively by logically identifying various solutions to overcome obstacles in the work environment. It is aimed at managers in different economic sectors. These managers would typically be second-level managers such as heads of departments, business unit heads, and managers who may have more than one team reporting to them.

Being able to assess and respond accordingly to risk in the internal and external environment of a business will play a vital role in the success of your organization. Managing risk is an invaluable skill that will help companies to approach future decisions more confidently. With the uncertain economic times we've experienced in South Africa in the past few years, managing risk has become increasingly important.

Fear of risk can cause significant uncertainty in a workplace; companies are becoming more aware and focused on identifying possible risk factors because it's better to manage them effectively instead of avoiding the problem. Being in control empowers you. Our training solutions serve as an effective way to educate your team on real-world situations that happen in day-to-day business.

Sexual harassment is a significant problem that affects many organisations in South Africa. The consequences of not addressing sexual harassment in your workplace are dire. In recent years, one factor has become prominent in managing an organisation's human resources, namely sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment constitutes behaviour that leads to and perpetuates a working environment in which it becomes unpleasant to work. The ultimate consequence of allowing sexual harassment to go unchecked is that it leads to the under-performance of those employees subjected to this form of conduct.

Besides the cost of litigation associated with sexual harassment, other more subtle costs are associated with the psychological and physiological harm to the victims. For example, victims often experience depression, frustration, nervousness, fatigue and hypertension, leading to decreased productivity and increased absenteeism.

With more women entering the work situation as a result of the implementation of the Employment Equity Act, sexual harassment is becoming more prevalent, and this new dimension of discrimination is causing concern to management. The consequences may be severe if an employer fails to address a sexual harassment complaint.
