COURSE DURATION: 3 DAYS

This course examines the various incentives and reasons companies should take on unemployed youth on internships, learner-ships and as first-time employees. The new BBBEE regulations under the skills development section require companies to take on 2.5% of their staff complemented unemployed youth on internships and learner-ships.

The government has given several tax incentives to companies for taking on unemployed youth as interns, learners or first-time employees. This course investigates the various tax incentives available and the procedures for claiming such tax incentives. This course examines multiple options for taking on unemployed youth in the workplace. It looks at what a learner-ship is and how one would implement such a programme. The course also looks at internships and how one would implement such an internship.

COURSE DURATION: 3 DAYS

  • Apply and integrate the procedural requirements of the Labour Relations Act into their daily management practices.

  • Define and agree on an appropriate course of action.

This two-day course will help teach participants how to:

  • Analyse the costs incurred by an organisation when a wrong hiring decision is made.
  • Develop a fair and consistent interviewing process for selecting employees.
  • Prepare better job advertisements and use a variety of markets.
  • Develop a job analysis and position profile.
  • Use traditional, behavioural, achievement-oriented, holistic, and situational (critical incident technique) interview questions.
  • Enhance their communication skills.
  • Effectively interview difficult applicants.
  • Check references more effectively.
  • Understand the primary employment and labour law rights that can affect the hiring process.
